Combustion and Knock Modelling in a Racing TJI Engine
Turbulent Jet Ignition (TJI) is a technology bringing significant performance increase and CO2 emission reduction to SI engines. After its adoption in major motorsport categories, it is now in the process of being successfully transferred to passenger cars.
PWT has partnered with e3 – Engines Energy Environment | Research Group of Politecnico di Torino to develop a 3D-CFD methodology in CONVERGE for modelling combustion and knock onset risk in high-performance TJI racing engines, which can be used to support combustion chamber design and optimization.
